Invertebrates in the Intertidal zone

We woke up early yesterday to discover some of the inhabitants of the intertidal zone on the beach near CEDO. We saw a large variety of snails, but also some hermit crabs, blue crabs, anemones, and even a small baby octopus! Many of these creatures are well adapted to the diurnal tides.

A gastropod showing their operculum.

A sea anemone.

A swimming crab.

A small juvenile octopus (presumably a two-spot octopus).
